My Approach

I have had the pleasure of working with disenfranchised communities and the mental health field for over fifteen years. As your therapist, my goal is to help you examine the ways in which your history may be limiting your possibilities.

Through our work together, we’ll focus on your strengths and accomplishments. In our therapeutic relationship, these personal attributes then become the launchpad for us to discover new strategies for coping, growth, and resilience.

“Mental health… is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going.” – Noam Shpancer

My philosophy

In my practice, I offer both short term and more extensive therapy to people from a wide variety of marginalized backgrounds through an intersectional lens.  In the short term model, we collaboratively target one goal by examining how your thoughts and feelings may be interfering with your daily life.

For more comprehensive therapy, we’ll pay special attention to creating a rich and nurturing therapeutic relationship.

This sense of safety creates space for you to more deeply name and understand your past experiences and how they affect you now. With this understanding, we’ll illuminate your values and use them to re-author your story and shape the life you want to lead.
